Who are we? Nathan and Teri Childers are originally from Huntington, WV and Parma, OH respectively, but moved to Youngstown, OH to be partners in the vision for a new faith community . Nathan currently works in the Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services Department of Sharon Regional Health Systems (PA) as a Therapeutic Staff Support. Before Youngstown, Nathan served as an associate pastor for eight years in Illinois. Nathan enjoys spending time with family, friends, watching football and would love to pick up scuba diving again in the future. Teri spent five years teaching in public schools before choosing to become a stay-at-home mom. Now she enjoys her role as a wife, mom, friend and her part-time job with Creative Memories. Together, they have a two sons, Luke (4) and Isaiah (<1).
Why Youngstown? We are asked this question often. Our family has lived our whole life in various states of the Midwest, so Ohio is a natural fit. We have an ever increasing love for diversity of people especially of this region. Not to mention the needs and opportunities that both a university and a city bring in the form of people, education, arts, sports, etc. Finally, we believe that it is God desires for there to be more healthy, gospel-centered churches in the Youngstown area. Since May 2008, we have adopted Youngstown/Boardman as our new home and love living in this community! |
